Presidential Fanfare

By Joseph Beneschan

Presidential Fanfare was composed for wind ensemble by Joseph Beneschan in 1992 and first performed to honor the installation of Dr. Salvatore Rotella (1934-2020) as president of Riverside City College in Riverside, California under the baton of Roger E. Rickson (1937-2003). It became a favorite show opener at Fontana High School in Fontana, California, where Joseph Beneschan was director of bands. Presidential Fanfare opens with a bright, marcato brass introduction that gives way to a brief chorale and percussion break, then returns to the introductory theme to build toward an exciting finish. It was arranged for orchestra by Noel Freeman and has been published here for the first time to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
